Project Background

An Australian builder specializing in high-end coastal homes needed a reliable overseas supplier for custom materials that couldn't be sourced cost-effectively locally. The project required materials that could withstand the humid, salt-air coastal environment while maintaining a light, airy, natural aesthetic.

Client Requirements

  • Timber products treated for coastal humidity (engineered flooring, solid wood doors).
  • Custom kitchen with Australian-standard cabinet depths and hardware.
  • Marble-look porcelain tiles as a durable alternative to natural stone in wet areas.
  • Outdoor-rated stainless steel balustrades for the ocean-view deck.
  • All products meeting Australian building code requirements.

Products & Materials Supplied

  • Engineered oak flooring (220mm wide planks, wire-brushed matte finish)
  • Custom kitchen in Shaker profile with soft-close Blum hardware
  • Solid core interior doors with satin chrome handles
  • Floating bathroom vanities in oak veneer with stone tops
  • Stainless steel and glass deck balustrades

Design & Material Strategy

We used engineered timber with a marine-grade birch ply core to handle Sydney's humidity fluctuations. The kitchen was designed to Australian standard cabinet dimensions (450mm dishwasher space, 600mm oven housing). Porcelain tiles were selected for PEI 4 wear rating and R10 slip resistance for the pool area — while maintaining a Carrara marble look.

How We Delivered

From order confirmation to final container arrival.

1

Sample dispatch: Material swatches, door sample, flooring panel, and tile samples shipped by air courier for builder approval.

2

Production: 6-week manufacturing. Builder received weekly status reports with production line photos.

3

Pre-shipment inspection: Builder's representative virtually attended the QC inspection via video call.

4

Shipping: 2 × 40ft HQ containers shipped CIF to Port Botany, Sydney. Australian customs clearance handled by the builder's broker with our documentation support.

5

After-sales: Technical data sheets provided for all products; installation video guides for the kitchen and balustrade system.

The Result

The builder achieved approximately 40% cost savings compared to local Australian custom manufacturing, with a wider range of material options. The project was completed 3 weeks ahead of the builder's schedule. They now use us as their primary overseas supplier for all custom interior packages.
